The Asscher Diamond Signet

Love the ring! I wanted something to wear comfortably on an eye sore injured finger of mine that I've been self conscious about for over a decade. Since breaking my finger, I haven't been able to wear rings on it since whole ring sizes didn't fit right and custom designing something with an arthritic joint seemed silly for a middle finger. I opted for this because of the quarter sizing and I love the look of the marquise signet. This is exactly my style and it's lovely to be able to wear a ring on that finger again, but I do have a few recommendations for potential buyers and for Holden.

Sizing: I just ordered a silver gem ring so I didn't futz with requesting a sizer. I banked on an 8.75 fitting over the bulky PIP joint, and it does, but the ring seems quite large. I compared it to two competitor size 9s and it is bigger. As a result, it is rather loose once on and I find myself having to rotate it a lot throughout the day to keep the gem on top, but because of the inflamed mid-joint, I'm not worried it will slip off. If shopping for a pricier piece/engagement ring, I'd recommend getting a sizer so you know how it will fit in this brand.

Photographs: would love to see more photos on the Holden website modeled on different hands and in different sizes! Helps inform the size of gem to purchase.

I was on the fence about getting an engagement ring at all for gender reasons, but this one with the asscher cut stone feels really good to me! It's comfortable and solid, and although I think it's unmistakably an engagement ring, it has a less delicate look than a lot of more popular settings and cuts. It doesn't get stuck on things and the stone feels very secure. The three rings I ordered arrived in the timeframe I expected and were really nicely packaged. The packaging all seemed recyclable which was nice, although I plan to keep the ring boxes because I like the look and feel of them. I had a great experience with Holden, from someone sending an email to confirm I was okay with my wedding band not sitting flush against the mini facade signet to the cute ring sizer kit.

I contacted Holden first and foremost in the hopes of getting information on turn around time as I was hoping to propose to my partner at the beginning of August and it was currently July. I discussed my options and timeframe with them and they were beyond helpful. Within 3 weeks my chosen ring was ordered, the stone was found and sent to me for review and then set within the custom made ring before being sent from NY to Dublin, Ireland. The support from start to finish was outstanding and the ring itself is absolutely stunning. I cannot recommend Holden enough. I got a “yes” from my now Fiancé and we’ll be coming back to Holden for our wedding rings when the time comes.
